July 2026 Dividend Report: Killing It With Covered Call Income!
How I Made $4,050 In Passive Income And Beat The Market By 22%
July produced $4,050.45 in combined dividend and covered call income, against $3,628 in June. That is an 11.6% increase and a significant portion of this can be attributed to covered calls written against ASTS. Dividends actually fell $314.53 month over month, to $2,167.88.
The covered call writing made up the entire difference and then some, producing $1,882.57 in net premium against June's $1,145.59, a 64% jump.
A few months of rotation out of the weaker option income positions has pulled the monthly number down by design. The offset shows up on the other side of the book in terms of performance:
My portfolio is up 32.72% year to date against 10.49% for US stocks YTD.
If that shape looks familiar, it should. I ran the same trade in February, when income fell and performance climbed, and the reason was identical: capital moved from funds paying a large distribution against a shrinking share price into businesses I expect to compound.
This is why I’ve initiated a few different articles for companies that do not pay a dividend.
Despite this, the underlying process has not changed. I still collect income from dividends and from the covered calls I write against shares I already own, then I decide every month whether that cash buys more income or buys equity in something the market has mispriced. It’s very situational based on market conditions and I share all of the alerts here for subscribers.
July was another rotation month and the breakdown below shows exactly where each dollar landed.
Here is what this report covers:
